For the past few weeks, the only thing I’ve known about my Disney job is that I am working Attractions on Sunset Boulevard at Hollywood Studios. This could mean a number of different jobs and the anxiety was killing me! But, on Wednesday, January 24th, I finally found out my location. I am working at Rock 'n' Roller Coaster! (We call it ‘Coaster’). When I found out, I was so excited! This is one of my favorite rides in the park and I am excited to learn the internal workings of this ride.
Ok…I’ve just had my first week of training at Coaster, and let me tell you, it is not easy! After day two, I came home crying because I didn’t think I would be able to do it. My anxiety got the best of me and I pictured all the marvelous ways I could fail my assessment. I even thought about purposefully failing just so I could transfer to an easier location. At Coaster, we are a safety critical role and this was definitely intimidating at first. However, with a majority of my training over with, I can now say that I am happy where I am. My coworkers are so nice, extremely helpful, and the management team is amazing. I am excited to see what the future at Coaster will bring.
